This piece of ambrosia maple was sustainably harvested from the mountains of Western North Carolina. The wood is filled with streaks of rich color with a blue tint that is created by a fungus that enters the holes caused by an Ambrosia beetle and interacts with the sugars in the wood creating the rich figure you see in the above pictures. This would make a lovely hall or console table that would bring some of the rich beauty of nature and the story of this tree into your home.
